As you grieve know that we are honoring the service of our comrade in arms Dr. Matthew Philip Housea. Even though we did not know comrade Housea personally, he was a brother in arms. May he rest in peace in the arms of our Lord. Jim Hollaway, Chaplain VFW Post 1798 Tulia Texas

To the Family of MAJ Houseal. my family and I are deeply sorry for your loss. I had the oportunity of meeting MAJ Houseal when he came to the APMC for a few short days. I had the oportunity to work with MAJ Houseal on preparing him to deploy though the Security section. The limited time I spent with him was very inspiring. He was full of knowledge, humor, and humbleness. You meet many good people in the Army, but rarely do you meet great people like MAJ Houseal. He was and is a great inspiration. We will continue to pray for him as well as his family. His memory will live on in many of us at the APMC.

Our deepest sympathies to all the families-I last saw Matt when Kathy and I picked him up at the Iowa City airport for Anne's wedding. I remember that we talked about our work in psychiatry. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

Even though I have been MAJ Houseal's personnel manager for a short time, he will be remembered for his service to his country.
My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family. God Bless You and Keep You and May his face shine upon you as he holds you in his hands today and always.

To the entire Houseal family, Sharon and I would like to express our most sincere sympathies. I have been honored to work for Col. Anne Houseal and may I say, I have never seen such a call to service better exemplified than by this entire family. May God Bless you all and hold you in the palm of his hand as I know he is all our brave service members who have been called home during these terrible times. V/R
