Bill Stevens

Bill Stevens, 91 of Amarillo died Wednesday, May 31, 2017.

Graveside Services will be 11:00 am, Monday, June 5, 2017 in Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, Texas. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.

Bill was born March 7, 1926 in Cooke County, Texas to Bedford and Lillie Stevens. He graduated from Pilot Point High School in 1943. He proudly served in U.S. Army until the end of WWII. He married Joyce Blevins in Gainesville in 1950.  After living in Lubbock, Vernon and Seminole for a while, they made their home in Amarillo in 1967.  He owned and operated Steri-Steam of Amarillo until retirement . He loved to fish, hunt and ride motorcycles.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Stevens; and two sons, Billie Stevens Jr and David Stevens.

He is survived by a daughter, Sharla Heizer of Amarillo; two sons, Donald Stevens and wife, Lavon of Weatherford, OK and Paul Stevens  and wife, Jennifer of Waxahachie; four granddaughters;  three  great-granddaughters; and special friend, Betty King.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 pm Friday, June 2, 2017 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, family suggest memorials be made to Alzeimers Association National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road
