Carl P. Ault

Carl P. Ault, 65, of Amarillo died Friday, March 17, 2017.

Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel. Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 4122 S. Bonham with Rev. Hector Madrigal as celebrant.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.

Carl was born August 11, 1951 in Oklahoma City, OK to Carl and Gayle Ault.  He was a “confirmed bachelor” until he married the love of his life, Gerry Franklin, on February 24, 1990 at St. Joseph  Catholic Church.  He earned a Master’s degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio.  He also served for two years in the Peace Corps in the Honduras.

Carl was an avid marathon runner and a huge sports fan, including high school football, the Oklahoma Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys.  He and Gerry loved to travel and enjoyed many trips to Europe.   He enjoyed enlightening his nieces and nephews with the sounds of the 60’s.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and his brother-in-law Rick Kennedy.

Carl is survived by his wife, Gerry; his father, Carl Ault of Yukon, OK; two daughters, Kim Pitt and husband Warren of Canyon and Candy Valdez and husband Chris of Lampasas; one son, Greg Franklin of Dallas; one sister, Pam Kennedy of Yukon, OK; one sister-in-law, Annette Pion of Summerfield, FL; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
