Debra Jo Chancey, 57, of Pampa died Sunday, March 12, 2017 at BSA Hospice of the Southwest in Amarillo, Texas.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2017 at In The Garden Ministries, 409 Main St., Skellytown, Texas 79080. Inurnment will be at a later date in Laverne, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Debra was born June 11, 1959 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Loyd Garner Chancey and Iris Joan Chancey Fruit. Debra graduated in 1977 from Southwestern Heights High School in Plains, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Loyd Chancey; step-father, George Fruit; grandparents, Joe Brown and Jessie Peacock; two aunts; one uncle; and one step-sister.
Debra is survived by her mother, Joan Fruit of Plains, KS; her children, Jason Schaffer of Ellsworth, KS, Ivie Metheny of Kismet, KS, Chelsie Metheny and Skylar of Kismet, KS, and Makayla DelaCruz of Pampa, TX; a special person, Terry Steadman of Pampa, TX; two grandsons, Silayus Metheny-McCain and Zeppelin DelaCruz; two step-grandsons, Caden McCain and Caleb Steadman; a step-granddaughter, Morgan McCain; two brothers, Robert Chancey and wife Sarah of Satanta, KS and Tim Chancey of St. Louis, MO; step-sisters, Lisa Bortz of Wichita, KS and Veronica Stephenson and husband Tim of Newton, KS; one step-brother, George Fruit, Jr. of Wichita, KS; and two nieces, Andrea McCarthy and husband Henry of Kansas City, KS and Cassandra Chancey of Iowa.
