Grace Lucille Pierce, 88 of Amarillo passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 24, 2018,

Grace was born on September 10th, 1929, in the community of Oslo near Spearman, Texas.  She met the love of her life, Leo, and they were married on November 5th, 1948, in Wichita Falls, Texas and spent the next 69 years happily together.  In addition to being a devoted wife and mother and a long time member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, she also worked as the cafeteria manager for St. Joseph’s Elementary School for 25 years.  After retiring in 1992, they traveled extensively and enjoyed their time together.

Rosary will be said 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel. Funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 29, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Cathedral, 1200 S. Washington, Amarillo, Texas 79102. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo, Texas 79110.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Alta Johnson, brothers George and Russell, sisters Opal and Elsie.

She is survived by her husband, Orville Pierce of Amarillo; a daughter, Brenda Lynch and husband Sam of Decatur; a son, Patrick Pierce of McKinney; two grandchildren, Jason Lynch and wife Molli of Cleburne and Jenny Willis Burge of Leander; four great-grandchildren, Preslie, Tyler, Cooper and Gracie; two sisters, Nancy Bruner of Louisville, KY and Myrtle Ann Hedgecoke of Irving; a brother, John Johnson of Dumas; and many more loving family and friends.
