Jim Teachout, 68, of Amarillo died Tuesday, November 7, 2017.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 13, 2017 at The Church at Quail Creek, 801 Tascosa Rd. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St., Amarillo.
Jim was born on August 20, 1949 in Shenandoah, IA to Richard and Sophie Teachout. Jim married Debra Walk on May 3, 1987 in Las Vegas; she was the love of his life. He owned and operated a parking lot maintenance company for many years.
He loved music, and was a lead singer and bass player in the Union County Band in S.W. Iowa in the seventies. Jim enjoyed fishing and camping in his spare time.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Sophie; one son, Lonnie; and a brother, Doug.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debra; two daughters, Sherri Turner and husband Tracy of Elliott, IA and Angie Gansen and husband Jeremy of Oronoco, MN; one son, James Teachout and his wife Brooke of Amarillo; two sisters, Jane Ellis and husband Bob and Mary West all of Ardmore, OK; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
