Lee Roy Williams

Lee Roy Williams, 93, passed away early Saturday morning December 2, 2017.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel.  Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 7, 2017 at First Baptist Church Chapel, 1208 St. Tyler St., Amarillo.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St., Amarillo.

Mr. Williams was born April 25, 1924 in Wichita Falls, TX to Joe H. and Vadie Williams. He lived in several Texas towns, graduating from Wichita Falls High School in 1943.

Lee Roy served in WWII in the Army Air Corp Air Borne Engineers for three years as a Staff Sergeant T7 in the Pacific Theatre. Following his honorable discharge after the occupation of Japan in 1946, he returned to Texas where he graduated from Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science.

He married Lois Ethel Steed on June 12, 1949 in Wichita Falls, TX. After spending four years in the funeral business, the moved to Amarillo in fall of 1952, where he worked as a loan office manager and retired as Vice-President from First Federal Savings and Loan in 1985.

In retirement, he loved to do wood work, travel in their trailer and explore the world. He was a faithful usher and member of the Henry Brown Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church. Lee Roy loved the Lord and his family as he was a wonderful husband, father and grandad.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Joe and J.R. Williams.

Survivors are his wife of 68 years, Lois Ethel; three daughters, R’Jana Becker and husband Steven of Amarillo, Y’Vette Masters and husband Cliff of Carrollton, and D’Layne Bradshaw and husband Jay of Webster; grandchildren, Cohen Masters of Carrollton, Bobby Bradshaw and wife Lindsay of Janesville, Wisconsin, Mark Bradshaw and wife Stefanie of Harmony, FL, Sara Esch and husband Ryan of Arvada, CO and David Bradshaw of Houston, TX.; and seven great-grandchildren, Logan and Clay Bradshaw, Lyla, Jack and Lexi Bradshaw, and Olivia and Landon Esch.

The family suggests memorials be made to Mission Trip Opportunities at First Baptist Church, 12th and Tyler, Amarillo, Texas 79101
