Ruth Wagner, age 88, of Amarillo, died Sunday, February 12, 2017.
Services will be on Friday, February 17th at 10:00 AM at St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. John McClean of Denver City, Texas officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
Ruth was born in Amarillo on September 25, 1928 to her parents Isaac Clifford and Xenia Donoho Williams. She was a 1947 graduate of AHS. On January 11, 1951 she married Melvin C. Wagner.
Ruth was the epitome of a farmer’s wife; she drove the trucks, cooked, cleaned, and worked tirelessly alongside Melvin. Ruth was someone you could count on to lend a helping hand. She will always be remembered for the fierce love she had for her family and friends. The family joined St. Paul United Methodist Church in 1983 and have attended faithfully ever since.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 PM until 7 PM.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Melvin in 2000; her daughter, Janice Wagner Howard; and her three brothers, I.C Williams Jr, Don Williams, and Rex B. Williams.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra K. Wagner of Amarillo; and two grandsons, Terry Howard of San Antonio and Robert Howard and his wife Christy of Lubbock, TX; two great-grandsons, Owen and Evan Howard; and her brother, Ray Williams of Tempe, AZ;
