Sybil Estelle Mize
January 30, 1922 — July 25, 2017
Estelle Mize, 95, of Amarillo, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 in Amarillo.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM in First Baptist Church’s Chapel, 1208 S. Tyler St., with Dr. Howard K. Batson officiating. A private burial will be held in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Estelle was born on January 30. 1922 in Roaring Springs, Texas to Francis Marion and Mamie Delcina Gunter. She married Amos Mize on January 25, 1941 in Paducah, Texas. Estelle was a big personality in a tiny body. Everything about Estelle was always centered around taking care of her family. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Mize; three brothers, Hubert Gunter, Francis Gunter Jr., and Harold Gunter; and one grandson, Mark Green.
Estelle is survived by two daughters, Sandy King and Terri Marks and husband Robert, all of Amarillo; one brother, Robert Duren of Duncan, OK; two grandchildren, Jay Green and wife Kathy of McKinney and Jeremiah Marks and wife Jenny of Mesa, AZ; and three great-grandchildren, Shannon Spain and husband Austin, Sarah Green, and Blake Green, all of McKinney.
