Anita Louise Jesse

Anita Louise Jesse, age 75 of Amarillo, died October 29, 2022.

The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Thursday evening, November 3, 2022, from 5 PM until 6 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel.  The Rev. Greg Corona will officiate.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia

Anita was born on December 17, 1946 in Oakland, California to her parents Orval and Florence Wilkins Cheves.  Anita moved to the Michigan area where she graduated from Oscoda High School in 1970.

Early on Anita would find herself in the Amarillo area.  She managed at the Amarillo RV Park for a time before returning to California where she managed another RV Park.  Although she loved California, life would bring her back to Amarillo and she would work at Memorial Park Funeral Home as an administrator.

Anita was a survivor. Not only of breast cancer but of everything life ever threw her way!  She never left the house unless she was dressed and glamourous.  She loved accessorizing with jewelry and scarves. However the most beautiful thing she ever wore and never forgot to wear was her smile!  Anita was warm and welcoming.  She was a loving individual that was always upbeat and whose presence could light up the room, no matter what trials she was facing.  Anita was simply delightful, and the world was a better place because she was in it.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her second husband Larry Jesse.

Anita is survived by her son, David Sherman II and his wife Jackie of Kentucky; by her brother Jack Cheves and his wife Deborah of Tennessee; her seven grandchildren, Marry, Elissa, Jared, Shane, Arran, Adam and Patrick; by seven great-grandchildren; by her special friend Bill Spruell; and by her ex-husband and father of her son David Sherman and his wife Kay of Michigan.
