June Bohrer, 86, of Amarillo died January 4, 2021.

Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2021 Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.

June was born September 16, 1934 to V.H. Alexander and Theola Craig Alexander in Dallam County, Dalhart, Texas. Her maternal grandparents were early settlers in Dalhart. They moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1932 during the dust bowl days.

She attended elementary school at Southward and junior high at Kelle Hill where she was valedictorian upon graduation. She graduated from Dalhart High School with many honors – most popular girl of her sophomore, junior, and senior classes, National Honors Society, Editor of the school newspaper, a Rotary student of the year 1953 and was member of the band as well as several other organizations. June attended West Texas State University and was a member of Delta Zeta.

She returned to Dalhart and worked as a secretary for the Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Office. She moved to Amarillo in 1955 and went to work for Shamrock Oil and Gas Co. She married Darwin Lee Bohrer in 1955. In 1961, she moved to Stillwater, OK and worked for the City of Stillwater in the Municipal Court and Police Department. In 1965, she moved back to Amarillo and back to work for Shamrock Oil and Gas Company where she worked for 25 years.

June was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha and served as President. She was a member of Desk and Derrick and held offices of Treasurer and Program Chairman. After 2 years of traveling, she went to work for the City of Amarillo in the Service Division of the Police Department for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, brother, Robert Franklin Alexander, granddaughter, Taylor Marie Bohrer, and a grandson, Billy Ray Copeland.

June is survived by her son, Robert Vincent Bohrer; daughters, Stephanie Jolene Motley and Valerie Ann Martin; her grandchildren, Michael David Motley II, Shauna Lee Neal, Clark Bohrer, Caroline Bohrer, John David Copeland; her great grandchildren, Michael David Motley III, Reace Bass, and Raegan Motley; and her extended family, Dennis and Helen Bohrer and family, John and Sherry Bohrer and family, Jim Bohrer and family, and Rick Bohrer and family.
