Barbara Ann Baker Chrostowski, 78, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri.

A memorial service celebrating Barbara’s life will be held on July 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia in Amarillo, Texas. A reception will take place following the service. 

Barbara was born on August 19, 1947, in Amarillo, Texas. She remained deeply proud of her Texas roots throughout her life. She carried her warmth, humor, and friendliness of Texas everywhere she went. A proud member of the Palo Duro High School Class of 1965, she was active in planning reunions and was inducted to the Palo Duro Hall of Fame.

She worked tirelessly to provide a wonderful life for her two sons as a devoted single mother. Her boys, Michael and Steven, were the center of her world. Nothing brought her more joy than being “Grammie.” She adored her grandchildren, Lydia and Stella Chrostowski, Mara Upton, and Amelia Weddle. She loved spoiling them with thoughtful little gifts, celebrating every occasion. Barbara believed joy was meant to be shared.

She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and countless friends who became her extended family.
