Billy Ray Hadley

Billy Ray Hadley, age 86 of Amarillo entered the Gates of Heaven on Saturday, April 16, 2022.

The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Monday evening, April 18th from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM at MORE Church The Rev. Trey Roach and Tanner Beggs will officiate.  Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Military honors will be provided by the Volleys for Veterans.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.

Bill was born January 29, 1936 in Friona, Texas to William and Laura Lea Hadley.  He proudly served in the US Navy upon graduating from high school.

He married the love of his life Faye Freeman, not once, but twice! The couple shared over thirty nine years of marriage together and raised three children.  He lived his life devoted to Faye, his family and to the Lord. Bill was a compassionate man and a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Bill worked for Phillips Petroleum for over thirty years until his retirement.  He was a multifaceted individual that loved sports, especially college football.  He also enjoyed golf, bowling and deep sea fishing.  He also was known to be a “master piddler!”  He enjoyed attending the sporting events of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bill was happiest when the family was together.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Phillip Hadley; and his wife Faye in 2020.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Kelley Gross and her husband Scott; his two sons, Rick Hadley and his wife Glenda and Mike Hadley and his wife Tina all of Amarillo; two sisters, Janice Boughner and Esther Abromaitis; three brothers, Red Hadley, Richard Hadley and Don Hadley; eight grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
