Ed Spitler

It is with great sadness that the family of Carson Eddie Spitler (AKA Ed or Eddie) 77 of Amarillo, TX announce his passing on 06/26/2026 at Goodlife Assisted Living.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at the Arena Of Life Church on July 10, 11:00 am at 8827 S. Washington St, Amarillo, TX.

Ed was born in Woodstock, VA on 07/29/1948 to Adine (Skipper) and Charles Spitler and graduated from James Wood High School in 1966. After high school Ed joined the Coast Guard where he developed the love of lighthouses and began collecting them. He worked for O’Sullivan as a manager for 20 years and later became a EMT driving an ambulance for Valley Health for 25 years. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson to many bike rallies on the east coast with his friends. After retiring, Ed moved to Amarillo in 2018 where he met and married Angela in 2022 and volunteered for Life Challenge. He loved his family and was adventurous. Many a Saturday night you could find Ed at Route 66 Motor Speedway cheering on his son, grandson, and granddaughter, with his family by his side. Ed was a faithful member at Arena of Life Church, where he served on the security team.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father Adine (Skipper) and Charles Spitler, and bother Chuck Spitler. Eddie is survived by his wife Angela Spitler, son Daniel Spitler (Tracy) of Amarillo, TX, daughter Brandi Spitler (Chuck) of Winchester, VA, son Benjamin Spitler (Donna) of Flower Mound, TX, grandchildren Lindsay Bullock (James), Madison Porras (Jorge), Carson Spitler (Sara), Cora Conger (Noah), Reid Spitler, Beck Spitler, and Naomi Spitler; two stepdaughters Ashley Bacon, Nicole Bacon and son Atlas, six great grandchildren (Nevaeh, Emmy, Hazel, Cason, Carlee, Eliana), and his beloved dog, Harley.
