Catherine Ann Roach was born in Shamrock, Texas, on February 22, 1930, to W. A. and Irene Allen. 

She died in Amarillo, Texas on August 9, 2026. Having been childhood friends since age five, she married John B. Roach on June 2, 1950, and was blessed to share 58 wonderful years of their lives together. They had two sons, John B. Roach, Jr. and Chris J. Roach. John and Ann were devoted members of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Shamrock for many years. She retired from the Shamrock ISD after seventeen years.

Following retirement, she and John moved to Amarillo in 1989, where they became active long-time members of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. They enjoyed many years of travel and treasured their numerous friendships. She particularly found much joy in over fifty years of playing Bridge and was an avid crossword puzzle fan. She was an ardent member of the Rosary Confraternity and Christian Mothers and devoted much of her daily prayer and study energy to her Faith. 

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John B. Roach, her son, John B. Roach, Jr., her grandson, John B. Roach III, and her sister, Cecelia Payne. 

She is survived by her son Chris J. Roach (Jo Anne), granddaughters Dr. Julie Hollberg (Tracy) and Shay Gieseker (Graham), daughter-in-law Susan Roach, granddaughter-in-law Meredith Low Roach, five great-grandchildren, and five nieces and nephews. 

At her request, Ann will have a private family funeral Mass and private internment at her home parish, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, in Shamrock, Texas. In lieu of flowers, she asked that donations be made to the charity or cause that is closest to your heart.
