Charles “Charlie” Euyal Harris, 78, of Canyon, Texas, passed peacefully in his home with his beloved wife at his side in the early morning of September 14, 2026.

Charlie’s life will be celebrated on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Brentwood Chapel at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.

Charlie was a remarkable man whose life was defined by curiosity, determination, hard work, and an incredible ability to learn just about anything he put his mind to.

From an early age, Charlie had a natural talent for understanding how things worked. His interests and abilities led him down a path filled with radio, electronics, mechanics, and skilled trades.

In 1960, Charlie began working with CB radio, including work with Buck Adams on Main Street in Channing. In 1961, he was working in TV repair in Channing. His love for learning continued throughout his school years, including his time at Channing High School.

By 1968, he joined the United States Army Reserve where he trained in typing and truck driving. Charlie proudly served until 1976, when he was honorably discharged.

In 1969, Charlie obtained his Federal Communications License for Radio Telephone. His education and training didn't stop there. Charlie continued taking courses and learning new trades, including electronics at Amarillo College, mathematics, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, small-engine mechanics, transmissions, automotive and diesel work, welding, locksmithing and key making, gun repair, gun sales, and computers.

Charlie was the kind of man who didn't believe in simply saying, "I don't know how." If something needed fixing, building, or figuring out, he would learn how to do it. His many skills were a reflection of his intelligence, determination, and lifelong desire to learn.

On September 14, 1968, Charlie met the love of his life, LaDonna Sue Puryear. Their first date was a blind date, arranged by LaDonna’s sister, Glenda, and Charlie’s oldest friend, Eddie Bryce. Charlie and Eddie had been friends since meeting in the second grade at Channing School. What began as a blind date would become a lifelong love story.

Charlie and LaDonna married on April 25, 1970, beginning a marriage filled with love, memories, family, and a lifetime of shared experiences. LaDonna truly was the love of Charlie’s life, and together they built a life that would span decades.

Charlie and LaDonna were blessed with two sons, Cory Harris and Cody Harris. Their family continued to grow through the years, and Charlie was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and a great-grandfather to ten great-grandchildren. He was also a beloved uncle to four nieces. His family was one of the greatest joys of his life, and the memories and love shared across the generations will be treasured forever.

Charlie was very proud of the families his sons built. He welcomed his daughters-in-law, Carrie Harris, wife of Cory, and Angela Harris, wife of Cody, into the family. **Charlie and Angela shared a special bond, and she was his beloved daughter-in-law.

Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Euyal Harris 1970, his mother, Elizabeth Mae in 1992, his niece Stacy Lynn Bryce in 1989, his sister-in-law Glenda Lusk in 2001, and his father-in-law Glenn Puryear in 1999.

Those left to cherish Charlie’s memories are his beloved wife of 56 years, LaDonna Sue Harris; his two sons, Cory Harris and his wife, Carrie, and Cody Harris and his wife, Angela, who was his devoted daughter-in-law for more than 30 years; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and four nieces, and his bonus son Chris McFarlin and his wife, Cyndi.

He leaves behind a lifetime of love, memories, and a family who will carry his legacy in their hearts forever.

Charles was a man of deep and abiding faith in Christ and the Lord. His relationship with God was an important part of who he was throughout his life. He had a deep love for the Bible and treasured the Word of God. He found comfort, wisdom, strength, and guidance in Scripture, and his faith was something he carried with him every day. His love for Christ and his trust in the Lord was reflected in the way he lived, loved his family, and faced life's challenges. His faith was not simply something he spoke about, it was a part of who he was.

Rest peacefully, Charlie. Your life was one of learning, service, doing, creating, and leaving things better than you found them. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
