Charles A. Roark, age 90, of Amarillo, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024.
A memorial service will be on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 10:00 AM at First Christian Church Robison Chapel. The Rev. Brett Coe will officiate.
Charles was born to Everett and Louise Roark on July 18, 1933, in Shamrock, Texas. He grew up in the West Camp, Texas, area and was a long-time resident of Amarillo.
Charles worked in sales most of his life. He was a man full of knowledge and had the uncanny ability to recall dates and things from the past. He never met a stranger and delighted in conversing with anyone he met.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Roark, his sister, Lola, and his two brothers, Roy and Joe.
Charles is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Dreka Roark; and his four children, Susan Lookingbill and her husband David, Rick Roark of Amarillo, Cindy Hefner and her husband Guy of Amarillo; and Charlie McDowell and her husband Jeff of Missouri City, Texas; his stepsons, Steve Dickson and his wife Linda of Cibolo, Texas and Porter Dickson and his wife Beverly of Wildorado, Texas; fourteen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
