Cheryl Fondi Danile Mullen, age 76, of Amarillo, Texas passed away peacefully in her home October 1st after a long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Cheryl was born in Amarillo, Texas on June 1, 1948. She was the second child born to Anthony and Edith Danile. Cheryl attended Palo Duro High School, graduating in 1966.
Cheryl worked at Amarillo Hardware for many years until retiring to care for her father. After his passing, she began a second career with Randall County. She attended St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Amarillo, where she participated in Adoration with her husband for many years. She was a member of the Carpenters’ Auxiliary in Amarillo. She was also involved with Martha’s Home in Amarillo. When her kids were in school, Cheryl loved being involved and participated in the PTA. She was always the first to volunteer, and her bake sale participation could surely have fed a small army. She has supported numerous charities and organizations throughout her life, including Coffee Memorial Blood Center, March of Dimes, and many others.
Cheryl enjoyed baking, cooking and hosting large dinners for both her family and friends. She enjoyed dancing and attended numerous dances across the state with her dance partner and beloved husband Don. She loved watching movies, reading, and tending to her garden. The most important thing in her life was her family. She made time for everyone and made all those in her life feel that they were the most important thing in the world. She was generous with her time and always willing to lend a hand to any task.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her daughter Felicia Tenorio. She was also preceded by her parents Anthony and Edith Danile.
Cheryl is survived by her husband Donnie Charles Mullen, brother Wayland Danile and wife Barbara, son Antonio” Tony” Tenorio, daughter Patricia McMillon and husband Del, daughter Linda Bowsher, daughter Briana Mark and husband Phillip, daughter Kathy Allen, and son Luis Tenorio and wife Jill all of Amarillo. She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren, Makena Shields, Justice Baca, Antonio Baca, Michael Mullen, Brittanee Corgan, Sydnee McWright, Braxton Heathington, Kaeclyn Tenorio, Shelbee Shauger, Brooklyn Tenorio, Antonio Tenorio, Aragorn Tenorio, Enrique Tenorio, Patrick McWright, Vincent Tenorio, and Ashlyn Tenorio. Additionally, she is survived by seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom she loved deeply.
