Christa Leighann Smith

November 3, 1979 — March 29, 2026

Amarillo, Texas

Christa Smith, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, was born on November 3, 1979, in Cedar City, Utah, to Gary and Sheila Moore. She passed from this life on March 29, 2026, in Amarillo, Texas, leaving behind a family who loved her deeply and a legacy of strength, love, and courage.

Christa's life will be celebrated on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM during a graveside service at Llano Cemetery East.

Christa was a hard-working woman with a sweet spirit and a beautiful energy about her. She kept her home, loved her family, and gave so much of herself to the people around her. Even through long chemo sessions and difficult days, she still found the strength to keep going, to keep moving, and to keep showing love. She never allowed her cancer diagnosis to take away her joy, her smile, or her strength. Her family remembers her as the strongest woman they have ever known.

Christa shared a beautiful life and love story with her husband, Eric Smith. Their love was built through real life, faith, laughter, family, hard seasons, and memories that will never fade. Their phrase, “All The Way,” became more than just words. It became a promise, a testimony, and a symbol of a love that continues beyond this life.

She was the proud and loving mother of Merchel, Eric Jr., Antrel, Cemea, and Leighann “Nink.” Her children were one of the greatest joys of her life. The love, strength, lessons, and memories she gave them will continue to live through them forever.

Christa was part of a special sibling bond known as the “7 C’s,” along with Chester, Cliffton, Carrie, Christopher, Cassie, and Cala. She was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Christa is also remembered with love by her siblings’ spouses, her Smith brothers and sisters-in-law, and her many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart Family meant everything to Christa, and the love she poured into those relationships will always be remembered.

Christa was preceded in death by her parents, Gary and Sheila Moore. Though their passing came before hers, her family takes comfort in knowing she is now reunited with them.

The family would like to give special thanks to BSA Hospital, the ICU nurses and doctors, Texas Oncology, and Dr. Tumula for the care, compassion, and support given to Christa over the past eight years.

Christa was entrusted to the care of Schooler Funeral Home. A graveside service honoring her life will be held at Llano Cemetery on May 18, 2026, where she will be laid to rest.

Though Christa’s passing leaves a pain that words cannot fully hold, her love remains. It remains in her husband, her children, her siblings, her nieces and nephews, and every person blessed to know her. Her strength will continue to inspire her family, her love will continue to surround them, and her memory will live on forever.

All The Way. I Pray We Meet Again.
