Clarence Wilbur Walls

March 29, 1945 — November 1, 2025

Amarillo

C. Wilbur Walls, age 80 of Amarillo entered into Heaven on November 1, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Lake Tanglewood Community Church. Rev. Jon Kohler will officiate.

Wilbur was born on March 29, 1945, in Pampa, to his parents, Garland Marion Sr. and Frances Ruth Bowers Walls. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1963 and went on to attend West Texas State University (WTSU). While at WT, he became involved with Phi Delta Theta and, throughout his life, maintained close friendships and continued his involvement with the fraternity. In 1968, Wilbur’s life took a wonderful turn when he met the lovely Judy Clary while they were both working at the bank. In March of 1969, the two were married, beginning an adventure that would last the next 56 years and grow to include two daughters, Autumn and Alicia.

The family lived and farmed in Miami, TX. The life of a farmer can be both rewarding and brutal, and they endured the best and worst of times on the farm. Through every challenge, their love and devotion only grew stronger. In the early 80’s Wilbur and family ventured off into the oil and gas business before moving to Lake Tanglewood in 2000. Wilbur was intelligent, confident, and full of business savvy—never afraid to take a risk and always an incredible role model to his daughters.

He was tough, but loved fiercely, and taught his girls that they could always do something better than someone else—and to never forget it. He was a steady, present influence in their lives, teaching them to drive, to snow and water ski, and most importantly, to value family and he instilled strong morals. Some of his favorite memories were made at family reunions in Arkansas, surrounded by those he loved most. His love for his daughters was boundless, but two things surpassed it — his love for God, and for Judy. To Wilbur, Judy was his one steadfast love, cherishing her throughout their lives together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, G.M. Jr. and Steve Walls.

Wilbur is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; his two daughters, Autumn Smith and her husband J.T. of Pampa and Alicia Raffkind and her husband George of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Ian and Ashley of Pampa, Madeleine of Austin, Cooper of Kansas, Grace of Pampa; brothers-in-law, Jim Clary and his wife Shenee of Midland, John Clary of Topeka, and Lee Clary and his wife Marie of Spring; and many other loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Wilbur’s memory to Lake Tanglewood Community Church, 106 Tanglewood Drive, Amarillo, Texas 79118
