Amarillo

Dale Ray Nelson (Farmer Dale), aged 61 of Amarillo left this world to be with our Lord and Savior on June 6th, 2022. A memorial service will be in the near future but yet to be determined.

Dale was born May 25, 1961 in Amarillo to Janis Brzovskis and Tommy Nelson both of Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his wife Sherry Nelson, grandmother Geraldine Edwards, and his father Tommy Nelson.

He is survived by his loving mother Janis Brzovskis, his granddad Bill Edwards, sister Debbie Genraich of Lubbock, Tx, brother Joey Nelson of Amarillo, and cousin Gary Howard of Amarillo. Also, his loving son Kameron Nelson, wife Krista Nelson, and granddaughter Kamdyn Nelson of Lubbock, Tx. His loving son Kristopher Nelson of Amarillo, Tx. grandsons Kaleb and Ethan Nelson. He also has 2 great grandbabies he had yet to meet. Also, many other cousins and friends that loved and adored him.

His mother remembers him as such a beautiful baby boy with long black hair. He had her wrapped around her little finger from the very beginning. He worked so hard as a teenager and always bought his own dirt bikes and cars. He was always so sweet, loving, kind and respectful towards her. He met the love of his life, Sherry as a young teen and soon after married her and the two beautiful boys came along soon after.

Dale was a funny and sweet man that loved his family very much. He loved spending time with his family, listening to his classic rock and enjoying a few cold ones. He could always make you laugh with his sometimes-crude humor. He was a wonderful gardener back in his younger years. He lived on that same land he gardened for over 35 years. He grew everything from squash, zucchini, okra, tomatoes, jalapenos, potatoes, herbs, watermelon, cantaloupe, peaches, strawberries, cherries, and the list goes on. He loved doing this with his family and they loved it as well. Gardening with Dale is one of Kameron’s fondest memories. They won awards and ribbons at the State Fair every year for at least 5 years.

Dale was a kind man and would always be willing to help anyone that needed it. If you needed a place to stay you had it. He was always willing to help if he could. He had so many people that cared about him and loved him. Jan, He will be missed dearly. We know he is now in a much better place and is no longer suffering. He is with the love of his life once again. We love you and we will see you on the other side. Dale your mother loves you so very much and will miss you and will see again one day. There is no other like Dale Ray Nelson and never will be. REST IN PARADISE.
