Debbie Ellen Nichols, 67 of Amarillo, Texas passed away on June 27, 2023.

She was born on July 30, 1955 to Charlene and Dwight Ubben.

Debbie graduated high school from Tascosa High School, following her graduation she attended college at WT and UTA. She was known for her talent in art. Everyone who received a gift from her always got a handmade, unique piece. She did everything from making doll houses to painting anything that needed a little bit of her TLC. Her family will always remember her as a magnificent artist that made everything she touched with her hands beautiful.

She worked for Braniff Air Lines for several years and was so proud of it. Debbie was a very bright person. She loved to make everyone laugh. One thing she said, even up to her final days was “If you don’t have a sense of humor, you don’t have anything to live for”. Debbie never met a stranger, she was full of love. She was always the fun one to be around, she was the life of the party.  But one thing she was serious about was her love for Drake. He was her shining star, she loved him dearly. When it came to her grandkids, she saw them more as her kids, she had an unconditional love for them and a special place in her heart where they belonged.

Debbie is proceeded in death by her father Dwight.

She is survived by her mother, Charlene Ubben of Amarillo; daughter, Ashleigh Baker and husband Jeff of Amarillo; son, Drake Nichols and partner Warren Carpenter of Amarillo; two sisters, Sharon Carlton of Amarillo and Tracy Bauman of Houston; two grandchildren, Shannen and Jayme Bartlett; three nieces, JJ, Bonni and Molli; two nephews, Randy and Chad; five great nieces, Charlotte, Preslie, Rylee, Lainee and Mia and three great nephews, Jackson, Trey and Beckham. Debbie’s great nieces and nephews were very special to her and had a special place in her heart.
