Deborah Ann Stubblefield, 66, of Amarillo, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on June 1, surrounded by her loving family. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 6, at 2:00 pm at the Schooler Funeral Home chapel, 4100 S. Georgia, with Deacon John Peters of St. Mary’s Cathedral presiding.
Deborah was born in Amarillo on January 11, 1957, the oldest child of Max and Claudette Stubblefield. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral. From the beginning, she had a strong will and independent nature as well as a quick wit and a wry sense of humor. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1975 and later joined the Stubblefield family floor covering business where she worked alongside her parents for over thirty years. Her customers loved her and many became lifelong friends.
Deborah loved sports, especially rooting for the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers, old movies and TV shows, especially westerns, fishing, and a good poker game. But, mostly, she loved her family, especially her two children, Jonathan and Kathryn. She said many times that the greatest joy of her life was rocking her babies.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Claudette Stubblefield, and twin granddaughters, Tierrnnie and Urijah Stubblefield. She is survived by her son, Jonathan Stubblefield and wife Keri of Amarillo; daughter, Kathryn Stubblefield-Frigo and husband Nick of Amarillo; her father and absolute best buddy, Max L. Stubblefield of Amarillo; her longtime partner, Kevin Reardon, who took loving care of her in her recent illnesses; her brother Steve Stubblefield and wife Priscilla of Little Elm, Texas; sister, Susan Brown and husband Tulley of Amarillo; grandchildren Rheece and Lillie Stubblefield and Sophia and Anthony Frigo all of Amarillo. She is also survived by her bonus sister and best friend of over 50 years, Missy Milam Losonczy of Fort Worth and special nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her dearly.
