Eddie George, age 77, went home to be with his Lord Jesus on Tuesday, January 13, 2009. He was born July 9, 1931 in Zita, Texas to Chester and Zelma George. He married Mary Estelle Lockhart on July 17, 1970. He retired from Santa Fe Railroad after 46 years of service. He was a man of integrity, compassion, and a friend to all. He loved his wife, family, and friends very much. He would tell everyone, even people he did not know, that Jesus loved them and so do I, and God bless.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; five sons, Jerry Lockhart and wife Cheryl of Amarillo, James Lockhart and wife Mary of Fort Worth, Craig George and Roselee of Maryland, Mark George of Monroe, LA and Bradley George and wife Cindy of Oklahoma City, OK; his brother, Chester George and wife Sara of San Bernardino, CA; five grandsons, six granddaughters and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.
