Emma Hunt

December 11, 1909 — January 7, 2009

Mrs. Hunt was born to John and Margaret Mary Nebosis Buchholtz, 7 miles northwest of Bellwood, Butler County Nebraska on the south side of the Platte River along the Oregon Trail.  She was the great granddaughter of  Erastus “John” Lincoln, who was a cousin of Abraham Lincoln and Rachel Davis Lincoln who was related to Jefferson Davis.  Mrs. Hunt died January 7, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. in Amarillo.  She married Walter Hunt on November 12, 1930 in Council Bluffs Iowa.
Being an only child, she desired a large family and was blessed with eight children of her own, 21 nieces and nephews, and a host of neighbor children including the Ewerts, Kallenbachs, Baers, and Hoshors.
Her faith was greater than most people will ever know, and she was grateful and appreciative of everything done for her.
Her sense of wit and humor astounded all who met her with sayings like “Pigs Wrist” when you thought you were going to do something and she knew you weren’t!
She was preceded in death by husband, Walter in 1976; a son Oliver Frederick 1933; son Waldo 1967; daughter Fannie Want in 2001, and her husband Robert, in 1990; son-in-law Jim Godsey 1998; grandsons Klay Martin 1985 and Chuck Moon in 2005; granddaughters Lori Lynn Little 1999 and Nancy Want 2006; a great-granddaughter Kayli Little in December 2006.
She is survived by sons Charles Hunt and wife Joyce, and Donald Hunt; daughters Lois Alfred and husband Don, Ethie Uptergrove and husband Jim, and Kniela Phelps, caregiver for the past six years; 12 grandchildren, Bobby, Devora, Billy, David, Kelly, Kim, Jozette, Scott, Jimmy, Larry, Steve, and Kenny; many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends, and a special brother-in-law, Lester Hunt, and wife Lois Mae.
We wish to thank all the Odyssey Healthcare Group for their special treatment, love, and concern for our Mother.
