Frances Stephens, 95 of Amarillo died Saturday, August 15, 2015.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2015, in Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel; Amarillo, TX with Chaplain Melissa Griswold officiating. Private burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home; 4100 S. Georgia St.; Amarillo, TX. 79110
Frances was born on April 9, 1920 in Weatherford, Parker County, Texas to John Sign Walters and Ruthy Jane McClung. She attended school in Turkey , TX and graduated from Turkey High School in1938. Frances married Warren Stephens on February 22, 1946 in Tulia, TX. She worked for American National Bank (Chase Bank) as a teller for over 30 years, retiring in 1981. She especially enjoyed sewing, hand applique and quilting and was a Texas Rangers baseball team fan.
Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Stephens Wallace of Amarillo, a son Phil Stephens of New Philadelphia, Ohio; grandchildren, James Warren Wallace and wife Allison, and Matthew Lee Wallace all of Claxton, GA, Sheena Grzechowick and husband Harry of Borger and Robbie Stephens of Amarillo; and four great grandchildren.
The family suggest memorials to be sent to a favorite charity.
