George R. Roy

George R. Roy, 80, of Amarillo died September 2, 2019.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2019 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery.

George was born March 21, 1939 in San Saba, TX to George and Lois Roy. He worked in relief for Owens Corning and retired in 2001. George was a hard worker and used to roughneck on oilrigs. He enjoyed watching Old Westerns, riding four wheelers, horses and motorcycles. George loved cooking out with his family and cherished his grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, Dad and Grandad.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Roy on May 4, 2001; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers.

George is survived by daughters, Dena Ware and Terri McConathy; son, Greg Roy; sister, Joyce Yancy; grandchildren, Ashley, Trent, Raemie, Dallas and Casey; and great-grandchildren, Savannah, Annabella, Zayden, Saybriella, Zaylee, Texas, Raelee, Autymn and Hunter.
