Harold Joe Robinson

December 5, 1929 — January 5, 2009

Mr. Robinson was born in Grady, Ok to Bert and Verna Robinson on December 5, 1929.  He married the love of his life, Carolyn Mixon on April 5, 1952, soon there after he was drafted into the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict.  He attained the rank of Cpl and was awarded numerous medals.
In 1955, Mr. Robinson graduated from West Texas State University where he played on the basketball team that won the Southwest Border Conference Championship.
He was a born athlete and played volleyball, softball, and basketball in the Amarillo City Leagues for many years.
He taught school at McLean, Channing where he coached the girls basketball team and Boys Ranch.  Mr. Robinson then started a career at Pantex retiring in 1992 after twenty years of service.  He will be missed by his family and all those who knew him.
SURVIVORS:  Harold is survived by his wife, Carolyn of the home; His daughter Kela Henderson and husband Charlie of Amarillo; His son Kevin Robinson and wife Terri of Amarillo; a sister Lawanna Brown and husband Don of Bowie, Texas; his brother Ed Robinson and wife Viola of Sunset, Texas. Three grandchildren Keli, Morgan, and C.C.; and three great grandchildren Sterling, Levi, and Kooper.
