Hammonds
Jun 26, 1998 — Sep 1, 2026
Amarillo, Texas
Hayden Hammonds, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away, on September 1, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, memories, and people who will forever carry him in their hearts.
The family will receive guests on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St in Amarillo. Funeral services will take place at 10 am on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Arden Road Baptist Church, 6701 Arden Rd in Amarillo. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery.
Hayden was a determined and hardworking young man who was passionate about aviation and dedicated himself to building a future for his family. He recently finished school from Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology, where he pursued his education in aviation mechanics. He was looking forward to beginning his career as an aviation mechanic and putting his knowledge and passion to work.
One of the most meaningful chapters of Hayden’s life began when he met his wife, Helen, in Southlake, Texas. Together, they began a journey that took them across West Texas as they built their life together. Along the way, they welcomed their only son, Henry Edward, who became the center of Hayden’s world and one of his greatest joys. Their journey eventually led them to Oklahoma, where Hayden continued his education and worked toward his dream of a career in aviation. In time, Hayden and Helen returned home to Amarillo to be closer to family and begin the next chapter of their lives.
Above all else, Hayden cherished his little family. He loved spending his free time with Helen and their son, Henry Edward. His family was his greatest source of love and happiness. Hayden also enjoyed spending time online gaming with friends and fellow gamers, forming friendships and sharing countless hours of laughter, conversation, and fun.
Hayden will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Helen; his son, Henry Edward Hammonds; his father, Jason Hammonds, and stepmother, Michelle Hammonds; both maternal and paternal grandparents, his sister, Ainsley Pilawski; his brother-in-law, Chadd Pilawski; his niece, Adalyn; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and extended family members.
Hayden was preceded in death by his mother, Leah Upton, and mother-in-law, Jackie Langley.
Though Hayden’s life was far too short, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain with those who knew him. His determination, kindness, humor, love for his family, and dreams for the future will never be forgotten.
Hayden’s memory will live on through his wife, his son, his family, and the many friends whose lives he touched.
He was deeply loved, he will be deeply missed, and he will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
