In Loving Memory of Hector Elias Granados
Hector Elias was born on March 13, 1955, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Ramon Granados and Angela De La Rosa.
He passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 2 pm to 5 pm, at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. From 5 pm to 6 pm, the family will have a time of reflecting on Elias’s life and story sharing. Rosary will begin at 6 pm. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 10 am, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1210 SE 11th, in Amarillo, with Reverend Taylor Elzner presiding. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery East.
Elias was a man whose warmth and kindness touched everyone he met. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures — fishing, cars, guns, and most of all, spending time creating lasting memories with the people he loved.
Above everything else, Elias was devoted to his family. Being a father and grandfather brought him his greatest pride and happiness. His love, guidance, strength, and sense of humor will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Elias is survived by his spouse, Abbie Velarde; five children: Brenda Vega and her husband Baldo Vega, Reina Granados and her husband Toby Villa, Lucero Granados and her husband Daniel Espinoza, Hector Rivas and his wife Yesenia Rivas, and Elizabeth Granados and her husband Gabriel Cortez; thirteen beloved grandchildren; two brothers; and five sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon Granados and Angela De La Rosa, and his sisters, Irma Granados and Oralia Granados.
Although our hearts are deeply broken, we find comfort in the countless memories Elias gave us and the love he shared so freely. His legacy of strength, love, and compassion will continue to guide our family for generations to come. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
