Mrs. Helms was born October 31, 1920 in Erick, OK to Solon and Stella Wester. She devoted her life to her Lord and Savior, serving Him through the Nazarene Church, which she joined in 1941. She was employed with the Naval Department in Washington, DC; she also worked for the Nazarene Publishing Company and as a legal secretary. She married Albert Helms in 1959 in Amarillo. She returned to Amarillo in 2006 to be closer to family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Iletta Messer, a brother Wayne Wester and by her husband, Albert in 2001.
