Jacob E. Chavez

Jacob Emanuel Chavez, age 11, of Amarillo, left this life on Saturday, October 14, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

The family will receive guests at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.  At the family's request, the funeral will also be at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 11:00 AM.  The interment will be at Llano Cemetery.  DUE TO LIMITED SEATING CAPACITY IN THE FUNERAL HOME, THE SERVICE WILL BE LIVE-STREAMED.  PLEASE SEE BELOW THE OBITUARY FOR THE LINK.

Jacob was born in Amarillo on June 10, 2012, to his parents, Eriberto Chavez and Marina Martinez. He had attended Bivins Elementary and "graduated" to Austin Middle School, a feat he was very proud of.

Jacob loved gaming and science and had a passion for animals.  He loved everyone, especially his "blockhead brother."

Jacob was a true warrior with a strong spirit. He fought to make memories and sacrificed himself so that he could comfort others. Despite facing a challenging illness, he was happy and loved fiercely. He was taken much too soon from his family, but his legacy lives on. An old soul in an eleven-year-old body, Jacob's funny and straightforward personality touched the lives of many.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Alberto Chavez, Juliana Chavez, Adelina Flores Vidaurri, Paulino Medina, Jesus Ibarra Sanchez, Rodriga Pena- Fragoso, and Manuel Martinez.

Jacob is survived by his parents, Eriberto and Marina; his brother, Jaxon Chavez; his grandparents, Maria Ibarra, Eriberto Chavez, Anna Medina, and Ramon Martinez; and by his aunts and uncles, Alberto, Juanita, Angel, Juan Carlos, Julie, Brianna, Sophie, Rachel, and Oscar.
