James "Pat" Patrick Kennedy

James Patrick “Pat” Kennedy, 72, of Amarillo, passed peacefully in his home on June 4, 2024.

Pat’s life was celebrated on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 11 am in the Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia; with Reverend Gabriel Garcia of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church presiding. A Memorial Mass will be Monday, July 22, 2024 at 11 am at St. Joseph’s Sanctuary with Reverend Gabriel Garcia presiding. 

Pat was born on August 22, 1951, to Joseph C. and Shirley M. (Carriger) Kennedy in Kansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Bishop Miege High School in 1969, and worked for the Children’s Learning Center for 23 years as a Food Service Manager. 

He was an avid bowler and member of the Petroleum League at Western Bowl, billiards player, and enjoyed reading a good book. 

Pat is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Kevin and Chris, sister Teri; and great-nephew Reece Howard. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Darlene, sister in law Barbara Kennedy of Amarillo, nephew Anthony Kennedy and wife Camillle, nieces Andrea Kirkpatrick and Allison Kennedy, and three great-nephews and nieces; and stepson Anthony Tincher.
