Jane Kelley Walker

Jane Kelley Walker, 83, passed away in her sleep, surrounded by loved ones, on Sunday, June 18, 2023, in Amarillo, Texas.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, June 22, 2023, from 5:30 pm to 7 pm at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, Amarillo.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 2 pm at Second Baptist Church, 419 N. Buchanan in Amarillo, with Jarid McCool of Westmont Christian Church of Lubbock presiding. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery.

Jane was born October 11, 1939, to Roy and June (Taylor) Kelley in Custer County, Oklahoma. She met the love of her life, Ron Walker, in Amarillo; they married on December 1, 1956.

Jane gave her life to Jesus as a young girl, and together, she and Ron loved sharing God’s word with friends, family, and neighbors. They were so proud of the home they made on S. Bonham Street, where they lived together for 65 years.

Jane worked as a secretary at the Boy’s Ranch Office. After her children were grown, she worked for the Department of Human Services in clerical positions as she became a Social Worker. She retired from the State of Texas after 25 years of service.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Donna Sue Kelley Woycik, and her husband, Ron. A true definition of a Matriarch, Jane leaves behind children Becky Brock and husband, Mike; Randy Walker and wife, Rhonda; Royce Walker and wife, Tera; all of Amarillo, and Sammie Shaw and husband, Randall, of Lubbock, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
