Obituary

Javier "Harvey" Flores Ill, of Amarillo, passed away on July 28, 2026. He was born on February 23, 1977, in Amarillo, Texas, to Javier and Maria Flores.

The family will receive guests on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 10 am at Amarillo for Christ Church, 2817 SE 34th, with Pastor Dave Ramos presiding. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery East.

He was a hardworking and dedicated employee at L.A. Fuller & Sons for many years, where he served as the Hot Mix Superintendent. He loved his job and took great pride in his work.

Harvey shared 27 beautiful years with the love of his life, Michelle Flores, including 26 years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful life and a loving family.

Harvey enjoyed collecting Lucha Libre masks and he knew the story behind everyone he owned. He proudly served as President of Nuestro Estilo Car Club, where he shared his passion for classic cars and the friendships that came with them. He loved restoring rust bucket cars and transforming them into beautiful show cars.

One of his favorite pastimes was going to the movies and enjoying all the goodies that came with them. He enjoyed the action, and Syfy movies. And he especially had a soft spot for a good love story. His daughter calls him a frantic romantic.

Harvey had an unwavering faith, -the kind that could move mountains. He loved Jesus and his church Amarillo for Christ. He was deeply passionate about encouraging men to grow in their faith and firmly believed that "iron sharpens iron." He had a generous heart and was always willing to give to others

Harvey was a cherished husband, father, Nino, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Michelle Flores; his two children, Izabela Flores and Javier Flores Ill; his three godsons, Ezra, Elijah, and Ethan Mendoza; his parents, Javier and Maria Flores; his brothers, Jesus Flores (Angelica), Cesar Flores, Louie Flores (Beatrice), and Abel Flores; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, countless friends, and extended family.

His greatest legacy wasn’t the jobs he completed, or the cars he restored, but the love he gave, the faith he lived, and the family and friends he cherished. Always knowing that each person God put in his life was for a reason. His legacy is also in the way he served The Lord, and the lives that he impacted and poured into. Always sharing the message of Jesus Christ and living out the greatest commandment found in Matthew 22:37–38 “Jesus replied, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.
