Jerry D. Martin age 71 of Amarillo died February 10, 2017 in Amarillo.
Memorial services will be held at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel on Saturday, February 18th at 10:00 AM.
Jerry was born May 1, 1945 to Clyde and Pauline Martin. He served in the United States Marines. He married LaNita Turner in Altus, Oklahoma on May 24, 1968. He enjoyed flying and was a private pilot in his younger years. He was an honorary Bird Colonel in the Confederate Air Force. He had a love for corvettes and his dogs, but was passionate about his wife and children; it was his family that brought him his greatest joy.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Gonnie Martin and Jonny Martin
He is survived by his wife LaNita Martin; one daughter Cinnamon Copeland and husband Mike of Amarillo; his son, Jerry Thomas Martin and his wife Amber of Amarillo; and his grandchildren, Devin, Austin, Connor and Riley Martin all of West Port, New York.
