Joan Thompson, 86, of Amarillo died Wednesday, June 15, 2011.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Jim Shelburne officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Joan was born May 19, 1925, in Mobeetie. She married Warren R. Thompson in 1941.
She was a homemaker and seamstress; she enjoyed playing games and walked every morning at Sunset Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974; and a son, Garren.
Survivors include a daughter, Jenna Longmire of Evergreen, Colo.; two sons, Joe Thompson and Tim Thompson, both of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Chris, Angela, Michael, Alicia, Tate and Vanessa; and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Odyssey Hospice, 6900 W. Interstate 40, Suite 150, Amarillo, TX 79106.
