Joegabriel Jeremiah Marrufo, “Jojo” age 26, of Amarillo, passed from this life on August 8, 2026, in Amarillo.

Public viewing will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia in Amarillo. A funeral service to honor, celebrate, and remember Joegabriel’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Lifeway Randall County, 2008 12th Avenue in Canyon, Texas.

Joegabriel was born on March 31, 2000, in Amarillo. He attended Premier Alternative High School. At just nine years old, Joegabriel accepted Christ and was baptized, beginning a foundation of faith that remained a meaningful part of his life.

To know Joegabriel was to know his laughter, his loving heart, and the unforgettable personality that could light up a room. He had a way of making memories simply by being himself. His presence was one that could never be mistaken, and his absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled.

Joegabriel loved music of all kinds—and if you knew him, you knew he liked it loud. He took great pride in his appearance and especially loved having his hair permed. And, of course, there was his love for Spider-Man. From the character himself to all things Spider-Man, it was a passion that was uniquely and unmistakably Joegabriel.

More than anything, Joegabriel loved his family. He cherished the simple moments of being together, laughing, talking, and making memories with the people he loved most. Joegabriel had a deeply rooted love for his big sister, Vanessa, and an immense amount of love for his baby sister, Jessi; and an unconditional love for his mommy who was never mom, but always mommy. His nieces and nephews held an especially precious place in his heart. He adored them deeply, and the love he had for each of them will remain a beautiful part of the memories they carry with them.

Joegabriel was also a hard worker who was never afraid to get his hands dirty. He earned his living as a painter and spent considerable time doing fencing work. He took pride in working hard, providing for himself, and doing a job well. His strength, determination, and willingness to work were qualities that those who knew him will always remember.

Although our hearts are shattered by the loss of Joegabriel, we are deeply grateful for the 26 years we were blessed to have him with us. We are grateful for every laugh, every hug, every conversation, every silly moment, and every memory that will now become a treasured part of his legacy. We are grateful for the love he gave so freely and for the countless lives he touched simply by being Joegabriel.

His life was far too short, but the love he gave was immeasurable. He will be missed more than words can ever express for who he was, how deeply he was loved, and the beautiful memories he leaves behind.

We find comfort in knowing that the Lord knew Joegabriel long before we did and that the faith he accepted as a young boy was planted in his heart for a reason. While we struggle to understand why we have to say goodbye so soon, we will hold tightly to our faith, to one another, and to the precious memories that will carry us through the days ahead.

Joegabriel’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, nieces, nephews, and everyone blessed enough to have known and loved him.

You were loved beyond measure, and you will never be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carolina Vasquez and Luis Octavio Marrufo.

Joegabriel is survived by his mother, Victoria Lowrey; his son Luis Jeremiah Marrufo; his sisters, Vanessa Esparanza Tafoya and JessiAnn Denise Marrufo; his grandparents, Boyd and Reyes Lowery; and his nieces and nephews, Alinzando, Armani, Nazalie, Azarie, Arayah, Everleigh, and Sofia.
