Amarillo

John Scott Kimberling, age 82 of Amarillo passed from this life on September 28, 2025.

John was born on June 1, 1943, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to John Dewey and Ruby V. Kimberling. He was a proud member of the first graduating class of Tascosa High School in 1959.

John was the successful owner of Kimberling’s Custom Drilling, which he operated for over 35 years. He was the epitome of a hardworking man—principled, meticulous, responsible, and driven by high ethics.

When it came to his family, John’s love and support were unwavering. He had a special bond with his daughter, Kelly, whom he adored. With his sons, John and Kevin, he took a slightly more stern but caring approach, always aiming to instill strong values. His grandchildren held a very special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
