Brad Van Camp

October 14, 1952 — January 20, 2026

Amarillo, Texas

Brad Van Camp, born on October 14, 1952, to Virgil and Anne Van Camp in Amarillo, Texas, maintained strong ties to his hometown throughout his life. He passed away on January 20, 2026, in the comforting embrace of his wife, Dagmar. He had a precious golden heart and was very generous and giving to those around him.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 1:00 pm at The Amarillo United Methodist Church, 3001 Bell St (St Luke's Presbyterian Church).

Brad was widely known for his enduring passion for travel, which took him to numerous countries over the years. His adventurous spirit was evident in his tendency to embark on journeys without predetermined destinations, embracing the excitement of the unknown.

Brad dedicated his career to the computer industry, where he continually sought out emerging technologies. He was enthusiastic about acquiring and mastering new devices, and his curiosity led him to be one of the first in his community to own a robotic lawn mower.

Romance was central to Brad’s life. In 2001, he met Dagmar Frommer through an internet chat room, arranging a blind date after her transatlantic flight. Their connection quickly blossomed, and the couple married in the summer of 2002. They spent their first ten years together living in Germany before returning to Amarillo, Texas in 2012, where they remained until Brad’s passing, with his beloved Dagmar by his side. During retirement, Brad and Dagmar found joy in cooking and dining together, cherishing the time they spent in each other’s company.

Brad was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. He participated regularly in the Saturday men’s breakfast, engaging in lively discussions about current events and sharing laughter with friends.

Above all, Brad treasured the moments he shared with Dagmar, leaving behind a legacy of love and companionship.
