Judy Ann Greer

September 11, 1951 — January 8, 2026

Canyon, Texas

Judy Ann Greer, 74, of Amarillo, passed peacefully with her family at her side on January 8, 2026.

Judy’s life will be celebrated on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 10 am at First Christian Church with Reverend Brett Coe presiding.

Judy was born on September 11, 1951, in Dumas, Texas to Gerald Mac and Kathryn Lou (McCallie) Hamilton. She graduated from Dumas High School in 1968 and moved on to Amarillo College where she received her certification as a Dental Assistant. On May, 26, 1971, she married Edwin “Butch” Lee Greer in Dumas and the two began their family.

Judy was a woman of many different hats. She loved various crafts and enjoyed bringing art to life through her creative mind. Judy was a firecracker who had a sense of humor and quick-witted personality that was defined by her fiery red hair. Judy was also deeply devoted in her faith and loved to serve her church, First Christian. She was involved in Wednesday evening meals, was a constant presence during Vacation Bible School, and was a steady and calm person in all factors and areas, and she had the biggest heart for giving. She didn’t care who you were or what the need was, she was going to take care of you. As she and Butch aged into retirement, they began traveling the country together. They saw the country one state at a time and even joined a travel club where they would eventually serve as both vice and sitting president. Judy just loved a good adventure.

Judy held only a few things above her love for her family. She was the epitome of a Proverbs 31 wife. Judy managed a career, home, and spent 50+ years helping Butch build a life for themselves and their kids that they could all be proud of. She was devoted to her family and loved them unconditionally, especially her grandkids. “Juju” couldn’t let them go without letting them know how much she adored and cherished them. Right or wrong, it didn’t matter because Juju was going to love you no matter what.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents. Those left to cherish and celebrate her memories are her beloved husband, Butch Greer, daughters, Tammy Marnell and Kirk, and Jennifer Valdez and Trini, brother, Bill Hamilton and Sharon; and of course her favorite people, her grandkids, Jayton, Brayden, and Brylee Marnell, Bennet Graham and Lex, Jonathan Valdez, and Noah Valdez, as well as the great-grandchildren, Tommie Jay Marnell, Wyatt Graham, and John Henry Graham; as well as many extended family and cherished friends.

The family would like to extend a sincere debt of gratitude to Conner Court in Canyon and their incredible staff for the wonderful care she received in her time with them.
