Karen Sue Newbill

Karen Sue Newbill, age 57, of Amarillo, entered heaven on October 24, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family. 

A memorial service to celebrate Karen’s life will be held on Friday, November 1st, at 10:00 AM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 South Georgia. 

Karen was born in Dumas on December 6, 1966, to her parents, John and Glenda Hicks Cloyd. She attended Amarillo High School.

On May 18, 1991, she married her best friend, Sammy Newbill, at the Hudspeth House in Canyon. That began an adventure that would grow to include their son Zack and last the next thirty-three years. 

Karen, a loving person with a servant’s heart, embodied compassion and selflessness. She cherished the opportunity to care for everyone around her and was devoted to the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Karen is survived by her husband Sammy; her son Zack, both of Amarillo; her brother Kevin Cloyd and his wife Kelly of Yukon, OK; and many loving friends.
