February 10, 1956 — October 29, 2023

Amarillo

Kenneth Lee Dodd, affectionately known as "G.P.," peacefully passed away in the early hours of October 29, 2023, in Amarillo.

Ken's journey began on February 10, 1956, in Toledo, Ohio, where he was born to his loving parents, Eugene Nelton Dodd and Mary Lee Sellers Dodd. On January 15, 1976, he embarked on a beautiful journey of love, marrying the enchanting Tammy Marie Albright in Dallas, Texas. This union blessed them with two daughters and spanned forty-two years until Tammy's passing in 2019.

Ken was a lifelong seeker of knowledge, earning multiple degrees in Computer Science and Information Technology. He had an unwavering passion for all things "computer" and was an avid reader. Continually embracing new technology, he skillfully applied his expertise in various I.T. project management roles and later in his real estate career.

Music and classic films held a special place in Ken's heart, and he was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, and unforgettable one-liners. His family was the center of his world, and he treasured every moment spent with his daughters and grandchildren.

In addition to his beloved wife, Tammy, Ken was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Patrick Brashear.

Ken is survived by his daughters, Jeanne McDonald, along with her life partner, Michael Roberts of McKinney, Texas and Kim Williams, along with her life partner, Shawn Prather, of Amarillo, Texas. He is also survived by his sister, Deborah Stayton of Log Cabin, Texas, his brother, Rickey Dodd of Dallas, Texas, and four cherished grandchildren, Shiloh Seale and her husband Logan of Amarillo, Texas, Karl Williams and Wesley Williams of Casper, Wyoming, and Shaun “Alex” McDonald of McKinney, Texas; his great-grandchild Maebell Williams; and by his constant canine companion, Honey-Bunny.

The family will arrange a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you consider donating to the American Cancer Society in honor of Ken's courageous battle with cancer.
