Kevan Russell Steger

Kevan Russell Steger, age 65 of Amarillo died peacefully on February 2, 2022 in Amarillo.

Graveside services will be held on Monday Feb. 7, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Kress Cemetery in Kress, Texas.  Pastor Donna Lindley of the First United Methodist Church in Kress will officiate.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.

Kevan was born on February 15, 1956 in Lubbock to his parents Luther Leonard Steger and Wilsie Ashton Steger.  He graduated from McCallum High School in Austin, Texas.  About the first thing a person would notice about Kevan was his smile and the love he had for others.  He could walk in to a room of strangers and leave with lifelong friends.  He always was rooting for the underdog and his favorite team was the Houston Astros.

Kevan was preceded in death by his father; by his stepfather, Skip Skipworth and by two brothers, David Steger and Jerry Don Ashton.

He is survived by a sister, Donna Wortell and husband Lukas of Portland, Oregon; his brother, Kent Steger of Amarillo and by his mother Wilsie Ashton Skipworth.
