Larry was born September 4, 1937 in Amarillo, Texas to parents Edgar Noel Womble and Opal Lucille Robertson. He was an only child and followed suit helping on the family farm and ranch. After graduating in 1956 from Dalhart High School, he went in the armed forces. He followed to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Business from University of Texas in Austin. While in school, Larry was preceded in death by his father Edgar which prompted Larry to leave school and go work on the farm
Larry returned to complete his Bachelor’s and began working for Pritchard and Abbott. While working for P&A, he met Vivian Marie Hester in Tyler, Texas. The love of his life; and married in June 25, 1966. The two enjoyed six years of quality of time before their one and only daughter, Christi Annelle Womble Avritt.
Larry and Vivian were devoted parents and lived to see their daughter grow and succeed. Larry led by example and inspiration. Larry’s next joy came with his grandkids, Christopher, Brittany, and Jesse Jr. Larry enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and would help them any way he could.
Larry spent much time in Blue Ridge, Texas with his daughter, grandkids, and his on-in-law Jesse R. Avritt, Sr. Larry was looking forward to moving to Blue Ridge, as he was planning to retire and hopefully do fly fishing or camping.
Larry lost his wife of 50 years unexpectedly on April 18, 2017, and he was truly missing her for the past three years. We know Larry is home with her.
Preceded in death by his father, Edgar Womble; mother Opal Lucille; and his wife, Vivian Womble. Family still living is his daughter, Christi Avritt and son-in-law, Jesse Avritt Sr.; grandkids Christopher Weaver, Brittany Weaver, Jesse Avritt Jr., and Jordan Wheeler; along with many other cousins, aunts, and uncles.
