Larry Lee Wilder, age 76 of Amarillo, passed from this life on July 28, 2025.
A memorial service to honor his life will be on Friday, August 1st, at 11:00 AM at Central Church of Christ Auditorium. Mr. Bret McCasland will officiate.
Larry was born in Amarillo on May 10, 1949, to Cleo and Virgie Caughey Wilder. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1968 and went on to earn his degree from West Texas State University in Canyon.
On August 14, 1970, Larry married Ann Thomas in Amarillo. Together, they began a beautiful journey that spanned 54 years.
Larry was known for his kind heart and positive spirit. He had a unique ability to find the bright side in any situation and shared that optimism with everyone around him. He was a devoted father, deeply involved in his sons’ lives—umpiring baseball games, serving as a Boy Scout leader, and proudly raising two Eagle Scouts.
After 36 years of dedicated service, Larry retired from Pantex. He and Ann were longtime members of Central Church of Christ, where their faith and fellowship were a cornerstone of their lives.
Of all the places Larry loved, none compared to being surrounded by his family—especially his two beloved grandsons, who brought him immense joy and pride.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Margaret Brandvik; and a brother, Richard Wilder.
Larry is survived by his wife Ann; his two sons, Aaron Wilder and his wife Jamie of Little Elm, TX, and Anson Wilder of Ft. Collins, CO; a sister, Darlene Hill of Fayetteville, NC; a brother, David Wilder of Plainview; and his two grandsons, Parker and Boden.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Larry’s honor to the Key to the Kingdom, PO Box 370, Hutchinson, KS 67501
