Lewis D. Littlejohn

Jun 7, 1953 — Jun 13, 2026

Amarillo, Texas

Lewis Dave Littlejohn, 73, of Amarillo, passed peacefully in his home on June 13, 2026.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Southwest Church of Christ, 4515 Cornell St. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.

Lewis was born on June 7, 1953, in Amarillo, Texas to Charles Dave and Francis Ann (Forsythe) Littlejohn. He attended Amarillo schools and graduated from Caprock High School. On August 2, 1975, at then Bell Avenue Baptist Church, Lewis married Margaret Hilliard beginning the foundation of their family. Although Margaret was from a Baptist family and Lewis was a member of the Church of Christ, they made it work.

Lewis was a loving and caring father and grandfather. He devoted himself to guiding his family which led to his favorite pastime, coaching. When his father helped start Kid’s Inc, and Lewis jumped at the idea of teaching and mentoring young people. Through various organizations such as Kid’s Inc and The Maverick Boys and Girls Club, Lewis was able to coach his children and even grandchildren in different sports such as football, baseball, and wrestling. Even after his own family were done with sports, he still attended games and matches. Lewis genuinely loved good competition.

While he did have an onery side, Lewis had a heart of pure gold. He would tease you to the point that you wanted to scream, and then on the other side of the coin, he would give you the shirt off of his back.

Lewis is preceded in death by his parents, son, David Littlejohn, and sister, Charlene Maxey. Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Margaret, daughter, Janiece Littlejohn, son, Michael Littlejohn, grandchildren, Aaliyah Littlejohn, Matthew Hulen, Nate Littlejohn, and Lauren Hulen, as well as many extended family and friends.
