Magan Delane Bivens

September 6, 1986 — May 29, 2022

Groom, Texas

Magan DeLane Bivens, 35, of Groom, Texas walked into the loving arms of Jesus on May 29, 2022.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 South Georgia in Amarillo. The Rev. Andy Dietz will officiate.

Magan was born on September 6, 1986 to parents, Mark and Tammy Britten- Bivens. She began her schooling in Groom and later transferred to White Deer, graduating with the Class of 2005. Magan graduated from West Texas A & M University with an RN BSN degree. Her love of nursing and helping others was her dream. It was a dream that afforded her the opportunity to work in different health and hospital facilities across the state of Texas. She had most recently worked at Covenant Health in Plainview, Texas. Magan had a love for animals of all kinds - especially her cat, Sassy. She loved reading, passing time with ink coloring and visiting with good friends and family whether it be by phone, text or in person. Her smile and laughter could light up a room. Her heart was tender, full of kindness, love for family and perhaps a little broken in recent years. She was gifted a Bible from her dad at Christmas in 2020, and in the past few months that gift had brought an entirely new experience into Magan’s life and world, and a new friend and confidante, Becky Dietz. A sincere thank you to Becky for the hours of counseling, praying with Magan and sharing Bible Studies with her. Letters, phone conversations and a recent visit from her Aunt Lynette brought joy and comfort to Magan. Since her mother’s death a rekindled relationship with her Aunt Paula grew into something very special. Hours and hours of phone conversations and texting were almost a daily thing, and brought comfort and a special meaning to both.

Magan is survived by her father, Mark Bivens of Groom - her brother, Cody and his wife Jill of Amarillo - grandmother, Janie Britten of Groom and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

She was greeted at Heaven’s gate by her sweet mom, Tammy Bivens - grandparents, Jack & Billie Bivens - grandfather, Jiggs Britten. Sometimes life can bring a lot of heartache, confusion and emptiness into individual’s lives. It is imperative that we always extend love, compassion and kindness to others. We do not know or understand the battles they are facing and going through. “The song has ended, but the melody lingers on."
