Patrick Henry Weinheimer, Sr., 80, departed to join Jesus in his eternal resting place on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 4:12 PM.

All are invited to a rosary service at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church at 4100 South Coulter on Monday, July 26 at 6:00 PM and Pat’s funeral mass to celebrate his life also at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 27 at 11:00 AM. Burial service will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Groom. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.

Pat Weinheimer was best at two things. Unconditional love and farming. Let’s start with the farming first. Pat said do what you love and it will never seem like work and that labor of love was agriculture. Without a doubt, agronomy was in Pat’s blood from the moment he ordered his first Sears catalog garden tractor as a high schooler. His family farm operation grew into a highly successful diversified business raising cotton, corn, wheat, grain sorghum, alfalfa, and cattle.

In his love for his wife, seven sons, and his Catholic faith, Pat was the definition of unconditional love. He was great at a lot of things including husbandry, mechanics, mentoring, parenting, active listening, and clear decision-making, but offering unconditional love was his true superpower.

Pat’s greatest joy and happiness was spending every waking hour with his loving wife Margaret (Maggie) Suzanne Mulloy whom he married on February 12, 1966. Together they cherished 55 years of unity and fidelity with many pacts made knowing they would enjoy eternal life ever after side by side.

Pat loved his place in the world and always remained globally aware many times saying ‘the traffic, the construction, the flowing creek are always happening whether you’re here or not.’

Pat graduated from Groom High School in 1959, attended Amarillo College receiving an Associate Degree in Science, and then graduated from West Texas State University in 1964 with a BS in Agronomy. He served in the U.S Army as a reserve stationed at Fort Hood from 1964 thru 1972.

Pat taught his seven sons the art and science of machinery and mechanics, the skill that is forgiveness through forgetting, and that there is nothing better than the smell of a rainstorm.

Pat would say he had a great life because he had it all - family, friends (although remembering proper names was not his forte), and the Catholic Church as his cornerstone and blueprint for life.

Pat is the son of Albert and Teresa Weinheimer and was born on April 12, 1941 in Fredericksburg, TX in a small white farm house on the Pedernales River.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Weinheimer and seven sons including Patrick, Jr. and his wife Kim and their five children and one grandchild from Groom, Timothy and his husband Bret from Austin, Matthew Weinheimer and his wife Kristen and their three children, Benjamin and his wife Jennifer and their three children and two grandchildren from Amarillo, Luke and his wife Angela and their four children from Minneapolis, Jarret and his wife Samantha and their three children from Groom, and Paul and his wife Lizette and their three children from Amarillo. He is also survived by his siblings James Weinheimer from Groom and his sister Theresa Swiger and her husband Phil from Bedford.
