Peggy Fae Inskeep, age 85, officially hung up her gardening gloves as of August 29,2026.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Peggy’s life will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Schooler Funeral Home. Rev. Matt Johnson of The Loft Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery. The family requests that you wear bright colors to celebrate Peggy’s vibrant life.

Peggy was born on June 12, 1941, in Balsora, Texas, to Harold and Cora Shawn. Growing up, she worked alongside her family at their country store, and it was there that she met the love of her life, Orville Wayne Inskeep. The two were married on June 26, 1959, beginning a beautiful marriage that would span 67 years. Together, Peggy and Orville later made their home in Amarillo, where they built their life and raised their family.

Peggy was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent 28 years with Amarillo Independent School District in food service, with most of those years spent at Forest Hill Elementary. Through her work, she became a familiar and caring presence to generations of students and staff.

Peggy had a true servant’s heart. Caring for others came naturally to her, and she was always willing to lend a hand to a neighbor or friend. She found great joy in doing things for others, often quietly and without expecting anything in return.

She also had an unmistakable green thumb and loved spending time outdoors tending to her yard and plants. You could often find Peggy in her yard with dirt beneath her fingernails, the sun on her back, and a warm smile on her face.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Cora Shawn; her brothers, Harold, Harley, Larry, and Jerry; and her son-in-law, Eddy Nazario.

Peggy left this earth, but her roots run deep in the family, she leaves behind her husband Orville Wayne; her daughters Carey Nazario (Tim) and Lori Vickers (Tim); son Clark Inskeep (Ginger) all of Amarillo. Sister Doris Rodriguez (Fidel) of Munday, Tx. Grandchildren Danielle (David), Brandi (Waine), Ashlee (Tyrell), Kody (Keelie), Cadel, and Cannon; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
